Frugal Tip: Download *FREE* music from social music sites
![]() |
Do you remember the days when you used to wait for your favorite song to come on the radio so you could record it on your tape deck? Now, it’s all about mp3s and the ability to carry your entire music collection in the palm of your hand. Just because times have changed, doesn’t mean your frugal ways have to. So, instead of shelling out hard earned cash on cds and single mp3 files, you can now turn to a free program that lets you download music from social music sites, legally. Normally, when you stream music, the website deposits the file into your temporary internet files folder. Now, you can download a program (Windows compatible only) called Free Music Zilla, that will let you capture and download the music you listen to from sites like IMEEM™, Last.fm™, , Pandora™, Myspace™, eSnips™, Mog™, iJigg™, Radio.blog.club™, and others. After installing the program, make sure you point it to your temporary internet file folder (C:\Documents and Settings\MyUser\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files). Since it captures the music as it streams to your computer, you must let the music play while Music Zilla is doing it’s thing. Once you’ve downloaded the file, you can add it to your personal mp3 player. Check out Free Music Zilla here, to download the program and for more instructions.
Here’s a list of features from the site:
- Download music from Last.fm™, IMEEM™, Pandora™ and more social music!
- Support all web browser like IE, Firefox, Opera, Maxthon, Avnta, Netscape!
- Super light, micro-sized and resource-friendly!
- Free! No adware! No spyware!
